Patients of the Graduate Periodontics Clinic at Marquette University School of Dentistry scheduled for extraction, bone graft and resorbable membrane will be recruited for this study.\n\nAfter providing informed consent and prior to local anesthesia and extraction, the following parameters will be recorded: age, gender, race, medical history, medications, tooth site, reason for extraction and tooth mobility. Gingival width will be recorded prior to local anesthesia and extraction, and at 4 months. Gingival thickness will be recorded after local anesthesia and prior to extraction, and at 4 months. Buccolingual ridge width and ridge height will be recorded immediately before, immediately after extraction, and at 4 months. This preservation helps keep the bone in place. Researchers want to see if the immediate changes in your tooth socket (like if it expands or stays the same width) affect how much your bone width and height change over 4 months. They will measure your bone width and height before extraction, right after, and then 4 months later. You might be able to join if you are between 18 and 75 years old, in good general health, have controlled gum disease, and are scheduled to have a single tooth extracted with a bone graft and a special membrane placed. The study is currently unclear on its recruitment status and plans to enroll 160 participants.","Participants will be followed for 4 months after tooth extraction and alveolar ridge preservation.",137,"You would have measurements taken before your tooth extraction, immediately after, and then 4 months later. Other information like your medical history and tooth details will also be recorded.","Not stated in the trial record.",[],"v2"]
