The program, called a \"Text-based intervention,\" sends parents up to three messages daily for six weeks. These messages focus on helping parents use suicide prevention strategies and also offer support for parents themselves. The researchers want to see if this text program can reduce the likelihood of suicidal behavior in adolescents over 12 weeks. They will also look at how much stress parents experience during the first six weeks. You might be able to join if your teenager (13-17) has been to the ED for suicidal thoughts or an attempt, and they are medically stable. This study is currently recruiting 420 adolescents and their parents.","Participants will be followed for 12 weeks after the intervention begins.",135,"Parents randomized to the texting intervention will receive up to 3 messages each day for 6 weeks.
