This site is most often the anterolateral thigh, the pain at which location can traditionally be covered by a fascia iliaca nerve block, although that comes with the disadvantage of losing motor functions in the femoral nerve distribution. The LAM nerve block, which is relatively new, aims to provide analgesia in the distribution of the lateral and anterior femoral cutaneous nerves. In short, this nerve block would decrease the sensation of the anterolateral thigh area without affecting the motor function of the leg. Preexisting sensory or motor deficits in the femoral nerve distribution\n7. Contraindication to the medication used or a peripheral nerve block, such as allergy to amide local anesthetics, severe liver dysfunction, injection site infection etc\n8. Pregnancy\n9. It is not specified if it is randomized or blinded.","completed","LAM Femoral Cutaneous Block for Skin Graft Pain","This study is looking at a new way to manage pain after skin grafting surgery, specifically from the area where skin is taken (donor site) on the thigh. This area can be very painful. The study is testing a nerve block called the LAM (Lateral, Anterior, Medial) Femoral Cutaneous Block. This block aims to reduce pain in the front and side of the thigh without affecting your ability to move your leg. Researchers want to see how consistently this block works and how much area it covers. You might be able to join if you are 18 or older, having skin graft surgery where skin is taken from your thigh, and your care team thinks this block would be helpful for your pain. The study will measure the area of numbness after the block is given.","The primary endpoint is measured at 20 minutes after the nerve block placement.
