This formative period of emerging adulthood is arguably among the most critical of times: it is when the people who comprise our next generation of leaders have some of their earliest opportunities to build their identities as curious about, accepting of, and open to differences from their peers.\n\nTraditional sauna bathing is a social, mental, and physical health practice associated with greater mental wellness and active social engagement. Recent studies also suggest that thermal therapies, including sauna, may reduce depressive symptoms, which contribute to loneliness and social isolation. Participants will visit a sauna in San Francisco for two hours each week, either alone or with a friend, for eight weeks. The main goal is to see if participants find this study design acceptable and if they complete the sauna visits and online surveys. Researchers are interested in how well this intervention works because loneliness is common in young adults and can lead to other health problems. Sauna bathing is a practice that may improve mental well-being and social connection.","The primary endpoint (Participation Acceptability) is measured at 8 weeks, which is the duration of the intervention.",102,"You would visit a sauna in San Francisco once a week for two hours for eight weeks.
