Investigators will recruit 12 men and 12 women aged 18-35 years and 12 men\u002F12 women aged 70 years or older. Whole blood, serum and urine will be collected and MRS measurements performed at baseline and 30 days for in vivo determinations of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and its metabolites. After baseline measurements, participants will take 1000 mcg of NR orally daily for 30 days. Baseline measurements will be repeated on days 29 and 30. Researchers want to see if they can accurately measure NAD levels in the brain and calf using a special MRI scan. You might be able to join if you are a healthy adult between 18-35 years old or 70 years or older. You cannot have certain conditions like diabetes requiring insulin, or take specific medications like niacin or blood thinners. The study will be considered successful if researchers can show a clear link between NAD levels in the blood and in tissues. The current recruitment status is unclear.","Your NAD levels will be measured before supplementation and again after 4 weeks of taking the supplement.",113,"You would take 1000 mcg of Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) orally every day for 30 days. You will have blood, serum, and urine collected, and MRI scans of your brain and calf before starting the supplement and again after 4 weeks.","Not stated in the trial record.",[],"v2"]
