Basic patient demographics will be collected such as age, gender, BMI, and race\u002Fethnicity. After enrolling, patients will receive a validated nutrition questionnaire called \"Rapid Eating Assessment for Patients (REAPS).\" Study patients will be randomized to two arms using RedCap. In Arm 1, patients will watch a nutritional education video before undergoing surgery. In Arm 2, patients will not watch a nutritional education video prior to surgery. The nutritional video will be a recorded video from one of UAB's nutritionists highlighting the importance of quality nutrition for post-operative recovery. Patients will receive standard of care surgery and post-operative treatment for their arthroscopic surgery. At 6 weeks, patients will be asked to fill out the REAPS questionnaire. Statistical analysis will be used to test the difference in REAPS scores from baseline to 6 weeks within each group and between the groups.",[18,19,20,21,22],"Arthroscopic Surgery","Nutrition","Orthopedic Surgery","Shoulder Arthroscopic Surgery","Knee Arthroscopic Surgery",[],"INTERVENTIONAL","SUPPORTIVE_CARE",[27],"NA",{"count":29,"type":30},200,"ESTIMATED",[32,39],{"type":33,"name":34,"description":35,"armGroupLabels":36},"BEHAVIORAL","Standard of Care","Patients will receive standard of care surgery and post-operative treatment for their arthroscopic surgery.",[37,38],"Participants undergoing arthroscopy surgery watching a nutritional video prior to surgery","Participants undergoing arthroscopy surgery without a nutritional video prior to surgery",{"type":33,"name":40,"description":41,"armGroupLabels":42},"Nutritional Video","The nutritional video will be a recorded video from one of UAB's nutritionists highlighting the importance of quality nutrition for post-operative recovery.",[37],[44],{"measure":45,"description":46,"timeFrame":47},"Change in Rapid Eating Assessment for Patients Survey (REAP-S) scores","The Rapid Eating Assessment for Patients Survey (REAP-S) is a validated 16-item questionnaire that clinicians use to quickly evaluate a patient's diet quality and identify specific nutritional risks. You could join if you are 10 years or older and are having knee or shoulder arthroscopic surgery. Participants will either watch a nutritional video from a UAB nutritionist or receive standard care. The main goal is to see if the nutritional video improves your eating habits, measured by a survey called the Rapid Eating Assessment for Patients (REAP-S) at 6 weeks after surgery. The study aims to enroll 200 people, but its current status is unclear.","Your nutritional status will be assessed at 6 weeks after surgery.",97,"You would complete a nutrition questionnaire before surgery and again at 6 weeks after surgery.
