Researchers will collect tissue samples during surgery or biopsy, including samples from the main airway (major carinal area) and any suspicious areas in the breathing tubes (bronchial tree). They will also collect fluid from the lungs (bronchoalveolar lavage or BAL) and evaluate tumor tissue for DNA changes. The goal is to find out if certain molecular markers increase your risk of lung cancer. You can join if you are 18 or older, have a confirmed lung cancer diagnosis, lung cancer that has spread from another part of the body, mesothelioma, or a lung lesion highly suspicious for cancer, and are scheduled for or have already had a biopsy or surgery for a lung mass. Eligibility criteria

Inclusion

Histologic confirmation of lung cancer, lung metastases from a primary site other than lung, mesothelioma or a radiographic lesion highly suspicious for malignancy
Written informed consent.
To be scheduled for a biopsy or surgical resection or have already had a biopsy and/or surgical removal of a lung mass
