Observational Study on H. Pylori and Gastric Cancer
This research study is for people who currently have or previously had an H. pylori infection, or have gastric (stomach) or esophageal (food pipe) cancer, and are planning to have a routine endoscopy. The study aims to understand how H. pylori infections can lead to gastric cancer and if early interventions are possible. Researchers will collect an additional biopsy (a small tissue sample) during your routine endoscopy. These samples will be used to identify genetic changes linked to H. pylori infection and examine the specific H. pylori strains and other stomach bacteria present. The goal is to better understand the connection between H. pylori and gastric cancer development.
