DISCOVER Study: Microscope-integrated Intraoperative OCT for Eye Surgery
This study is looking at a new way to use a special imaging tool called Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) during eye surgery. OCT uses light to create detailed pictures of the inside of your eye, helping doctors see things they can't with their eyes alone. In this study, the OCT device is built right into the surgical microscope. Doctors will use this integrated OCT to take pictures during surgery for conditions like retinal diseases, macular holes, and retinal detachment. The main goal is to see if using this built-in OCT during surgery is practical and helpful for surgeons. We plan to enroll 3000 patients who need eye surgery. You can join if you are 18 years or older and need ophthalmic (eye) surgery, as long as you can provide consent.
