Imaging SV2A in Mood Disorders with Ketamine

This study is looking at how a protein called SV2A, found in brain connections (synapses), might be different in people with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). We also want to see if ketamine, a medication, can help restore these brain connections. You would have an MRI and 2-3 PET scans (a type of imaging) to look at your brain, with ketamine given during one of the scans. We hope to find out if changes in SV2A are linked to these conditions and if ketamine can improve them, potentially leading to better antidepressant responses. The study plans to enroll 130 participants aged 18-70 who speak English and have MDD or PTSD. The study's status is currently unclear.
