Uterine Transplant for Absolute Uterine Infertility
This study is exploring uterine transplant as a way for women with Absolute Uterine Factor Infertility (AUFI) to carry a pregnancy. AUFI means you cannot carry a pregnancy due to problems with your uterus, such as being born without one or having it removed. The study will involve a uterine transplant procedure using a uterus from a living donor. Before the transplant, you would undergo IVF (in vitro fertilization) to create and freeze at least six embryos. About one year after the transplant, these embryos would be transferred to achieve pregnancy, with delivery by C-section. The main goal is to see how many successful live births happen after the transplant and embryo transfer. This study is currently recruiting a small number of participants, aiming for 3 women aged 18-40 who meet specific health and weight criteria.
- Study design
- This is an interventional study, meaning participants will receive a specific treatment. It plans to enroll 3 participants.
- What's involved
- Participants will undergo IVF, a uterine transplant, embryo transfer, and delivery by C-section. After the uterus is removed, five years of follow-up is planned.
- Compensation
- Not stated in the trial record.
- Follow-up
- Participants will be followed for five years after the uterus is removed.
