Observational Study of Rare Kidney Stone Diseases

This observational study, called Prospective Research Rare Kidney Stones (ProRKS), is looking at the natural course of several inherited and acquired kidney stone conditions. These include primary hyperoxaluria, enteric hyperoxaluria, Dent Disease, Cystinuria, adenine phosphoribosyltransferase deficiency (APRTd), and Lowe Syndrome. Researchers want to understand how these conditions develop and affect the kidneys over time. They will measure inflammatory markers in blood and urine annually for five years to see how they relate to the disease's progression. This study aims to help doctors better understand how kidney problems develop in these rare diseases. You may be able to join if you have been diagnosed with one of these conditions and have not had prior kidney failure or a liver/kidney transplant.
