Gender Differences in Dronabinol Effects Study

This study is looking at how a cannabis-related medication, Dronabinol (10 mg capsule), affects men and women differently. Researchers want to understand the immediate effects of Dronabinol and why these differences might occur. You might be able to join if you are between 18 and 55 years old, have used cannabis before, and are in good physical and mental health. However, you cannot join if you've never used cannabis, are experiencing major stress, or for women, if you are taking estrogen supplements or birth control pills. The study will measure how Dronabinol affects feelings of being "high" and your verbal learning abilities. The current recruitment status is unclear.

Study design
This interventional study plans to enroll 40 participants to compare the effects of Dronabinol versus a placebo pill.
What's involved
Participants will receive either Dronabinol or a placebo. Measurements for "high" feelings will be taken over several hours, and verbal learning will be tested at baseline and 80 minutes after taking the medication.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
Measurements for rewarding effects are taken up to 300 minutes (5 hours) after administration, and verbal learning up to 80 minutes.
