Study of External Ear Stimulation for Pain and Mood

This study is looking at how mild electrical stimulation to your left ear affects how you experience pain and your mood. Researchers will use a device called The Twin Stim Plus, 3rd Edition, which is a type of TENS unit (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator), to apply this stimulation. They will compare stimulation to two different parts of your ear: the cymba conchae and the earlobe. To measure pain, they will use another device, the Medoc Pathway System, to apply heat to your arms. The main goal is to see if there's a difference in pain ratings between these two ear stimulation locations. You can join if you are a healthy person between 18 and 50 years old and speak English. The study is currently unclear on its recruitment status.

Study design
This is a double-blind, randomized, controlled, cross-over study involving up to 76 healthy participants. It compares two types of electrical stimulation to the left ear.
