Mild TBI Assessment & Rehabilitation Study
This study is looking at ways to help Veterans who have experienced a mild traumatic brain injury (TBI) and are dealing with lasting cognitive (thinking) and emotional challenges. Researchers are testing two approaches: Goal-Oriented Attentional Self-Regulation (GOALS), which is a cognitive training program, and Brain Health Education (BHE), which provides information about brain function. The goal is to see if GOALS can improve daily life for Veterans with mild TBI by helping them with attention and goal management. To join, you need to be a Veteran aged 18 or older with a history of mild TBI (more than 6 months ago) and report ongoing cognitive difficulties. Success will be measured by improvements in executive function (thinking skills) using a specific task called the Delis-Kaplan Executive Function System (D-KEFS) Stroop Inhibition-Switching Task, measured 6 months after you join. The current recruitment status is unclear.
