Corneal Elastography and Patient Specific Modeling for Eye Conditions

This observational study aims to improve how we understand and predict individual responses to eye treatments, especially for conditions like keratoconus (a thinning of the cornea) and refractive errors (common vision problems like nearsightedness or farsightedness). Researchers will use optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging to look at the mechanical properties of your cornea. They will then create computer models to simulate how your eye might respond to treatments like LASIK (laser vision correction). The main goal is to see if these computer models can accurately predict changes in the cornea's shape after surgery. You may be able to join if you are between 16 and 80 years old and have keratoconus or are planning to have LASIK surgery. The study status is currently unclear.

Eligibility criteria

Inclusion

Any patient with keratoconus diagnosed by standard criteria, including topographic steepness, irregular astigmatism with a pattern consistent with keratoconus.
Any patient deemed a candidate for LASIK (laser vision correction) and scheduled for surgery.

Exclusion

Inability to provide informed consent, including non-English speaking (if interpreter not available) and cognitively/mentally impaired (if legal guardian not available).
