Tesamorelin for Peripheral Nerve Injury Recovery

This study is looking at whether a drug called Tesamorelin can help people recover better after a peripheral nerve injury. Tesamorelin works by increasing growth hormone, which has been shown to help nerves heal in animal studies. You could be eligible if you are an adult (18 or older) with an ulnar nerve (a nerve in your arm) laceration (a cut) at the wrist that has been repaired. However, you cannot participate if you have certain cancers, uncontrolled diabetes or high blood pressure, specific pituitary gland problems, are pregnant, or have drug or alcohol dependence. The main goal is to see if Tesamorelin improves your hand function, specifically your pinch strength, after 12 months. The study is currently recruiting 36 participants.

Study design
This is a randomized, double-blinded study, meaning participants are randomly assigned to receive Tesamorelin or no treatment, and neither you nor the study staff will know which you are receiving. There will be 36 participants in total.
