This study, called the Brain, Blood And Clot or Tissue Registry And Collaboration, is collecting samples of blood and tissue during cerebrovascular procedures (surgeries or treatments for blood vessel problems in the brain) at the University of Kentucky. The goal is to better understand conditions like acute ischemic stroke (a type of stroke caused by a blood clot) and other cerebrovascular disorders. Researchers will analyze these samples to find biological markers (substances in the body that can indicate a disease) and learn more about how these diseases affect the body. This information could help develop better treatments in the future. Up to 1000 adults, aged 18 and older, who are undergoing a cerebrovascular procedure at the University of Kentucky can participate.
