Red Light Treatment for Peripheral Artery Disease

This study is looking at how red light (670 nm energy) affects blood flow in people with Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD). PAD is a condition where narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to your limbs, often causing leg pain when walking (claudication). Researchers will place a light-emitting device over your calf muscle for 5 minutes. To measure blood flow, you will receive an infusion of octafluoropropane, which helps show blood flow on an ultrasound. The main goal is to see how your blood flow changes before, during, and right after the light treatment. You can join if you are 18 to 85 years old and have been diagnosed with PAD, which is determined by an Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) test. The study is currently unclear on its recruitment status.

Eligibility criteria

Inclusion

Participants will be subjects between the ages of 18 and 85 who have been diagnosed with peripheral artery disease. Men and women will be recruited for participation. All ethnicities will be included in this study.
