Obesity, Metabolic Dysregulation, and Asthma Study

This study is looking at how obesity and metabolic syndrome (a group of conditions that increase your risk of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes) might affect the airways of people with asthma. Researchers want to understand how these conditions relate to how your body uses nitric oxide (NO) in your airways. To do this, they will collect samples from your nose and airways through a procedure called a bronchoscopy. They will then measure specific pathways related to L-arginine-NO and oxidative stress in these samples. The study is open to men and women aged 18 to 65 who have asthma, with or without obesity and metabolic syndrome. The study's status is unclear, and it plans to enroll 50 participants.
