Virtual Reality Attention Management for ADHD
This study is testing a new approach called Virtual Reality (VR) Treatment to help children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) manage distractions. The VR Treatment uses virtual reality to help children learn to ignore things that might distract them, based on how our brains learn to get used to repeated sights or sounds (habituation). Researchers will compare this to a VR Active Control, which is a VR experience without these distractions. The study is looking for children aged 8 to 12 years old who have significant problems with inattention. Success in this study will be measured by whether children make fewer eye and head movements towards distractions after 5-7 weeks. The current status of this study is unclear.

- Decrease in the amount of eye movements toward the distractors and/or shorter duration of fixation on distractors.5-7 weeks
Successful distractor suppression = improvement in number of orienting eye saccades toward distractors and duration of fixations by a statistical effect size of 0.5 or greater.
- Decrease in the amount of head movements toward the distractors5-7 weeks
Successful decrease in head movements = improvement in extent or duration of head movements by a statistical effect size of 0.5 or greater.
