Observational Study on OCD Biomarkers Using Behavioral Tasks

This study is looking for biological markers (biomarkers) that can help us understand obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) better. Researchers will use two types of behavioral tasks: the Beads Task, which involves making decisions about rewards, and PROVOC Tasks, where you'll be exposed to triggers you usually avoid. During these tasks, researchers will measure your brain activity using EEG (a test that records brain waves) and film your facial reactions. This will help them find changes that could be biomarkers for OCD. You might be able to join if you are 18 to 65 years old, have an OCD diagnosis, and meet other specific health criteria. The study aims to find these biomarkers to help develop new ways to understand and treat OCD.

Eligibility criteria

Inclusion

Diagnosis of OCD
Non-pregnant if female
Minimum score of 16 on Y-BOCS
Ability to provide informed consent
Lifetime diagnosis of psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia
Alcohol or substance abuse/dependence within 6 months, excluding nicotine
Deemed at high risk of suicidal behavior or impulsivity
Pregnant or plans to become pregnant in the next 24 months
