This study aims to better understand how your body's immune system responds to the influenza (flu) vaccine. Researchers are looking for 75 community-dwelling adults who need a standard flu shot. You will receive one intramuscular (into the muscle) dose of seasonal quadrivalent inactivated influenza vaccine. To see if the vaccine is successful, researchers will measure your influenza neutralizing antibody titers (levels of protective antibodies) between 21 and 42 days after vaccination. You cannot join if you have a fever, active cancer, are taking immunosuppressing medications, have donated blood recently, or have been vaccinated for flu in the past 6 months.
