Liposomal Bupivacaine vs. Plain Bupivacaine for Post-Surgery Pain

This study is looking at how two different pain medications, Exparel (liposomal bupivacaine) and plain bupivacaine, work in your body after certain lung surgeries (thoracoscopy). Researchers want to see if Exparel, which is designed to release slowly, can provide good pain relief without causing too much of the drug to enter your bloodstream. They will compare the levels of bupivacaine in your blood after you receive either Exparel or plain bupivacaine through injections around your ribs (intercostal injections). The goal is to make sure the drug levels stay safe while still managing your pain effectively. This study is for adults over 18 who are having specific minimally invasive lung surgeries.
