L-citrulline for Overweight Adults with Late-Onset Asthma

This study is looking at whether L-citrulline, a natural substance, can help adults with asthma who are also overweight and developed asthma later in life. These individuals often have asthma symptoms that are hard to control with usual inhaled medications. The study will compare L-citrulline to a matching placebo (an inactive substance) over 7 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in your asthma control using questionnaires like the Asthma Control Questionnaire and Asthma Control Test to see if L-citrulline helps improve your symptoms. You may be able to join if you are between 18 and 65 years old, have a doctor's diagnosis of asthma, and have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher. The current status of this study is unclear.

Study design
This is an interventional study planning to enroll 60 participants. It compares L-citrulline to a matching placebo.
What's involved
You would receive either L-citrulline or a placebo orally (mixed with water) for 7 weeks. Your asthma control will be measured through study completion, up to 32 weeks.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
