Monitoring Rectal Cancer Treatment with MRI-guided Radiotherapy

This observational study is looking at how well a special type of MRI scan, called on-board DWI sequences, can predict treatment response in people with rectal adenocarcinoma (a type of colon cancer). You would receive standard radiotherapy treatment using an MRI-guided system. During your treatment, these special MRI scans would be done every three treatment sessions, taking about 3-4 minutes each time. Researchers want to see if the results from these scans, specifically a measurement called Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC), can tell us early on how well the treatment is working. To join, you need to be over 18, have been diagnosed with rectal adenocarcinoma, and be healthy enough for treatment. The study is currently unclear on its status.
