PAW: Pain and Weight Treatment for Adolescents
This study is testing a new approach called PAW (Pain and Weight Treatment) to help teenagers aged 12-18 who are in a weight management program and also experience chronic pain. Many teens in weight loss programs struggle to complete them or keep the weight off. This study believes that addressing pain, which is common in teens with obesity, might help them stick with their weight management plan. You would be assigned to either the PAW treatment plus standard care, or Pain Education plus standard care. The researchers will look at how often participants attend their sessions over 13 weeks to see if the new PAW treatment helps. The study is currently recruiting 50 participants.
