We know that being overweight or obese and not getting enough sleep are common health concerns for kids. This study wants to understand how sleep restriction (sleeping 8 hours) and sleep extension (sleeping 11 hours) for one week impact weight and eating behaviors. You might be able to join if you are 8-12 years old, at risk for obesity (BMI at or above the 85th percentile for your age and sex, or at or above the 50th percentile with an obese parent), and usually sleep between 9.5 and 10.5 hours per night. The study will measure changes in weight and eating behavior after 4 weeks. The current status of this study is unclear.
