Researchers will look at the characteristics of neutrophils found in the blood and in secretions from the breathing tubes of sepsis patients in the ICU. This study is looking for 75 participants, including children and adults aged 2 to 50 years old, who are either sepsis patients with a breathing tube or healthy individuals undergoing elective surgery.
