Immediate Postpartum Glucose Tolerance Testing for Gestational Diabetes

This study is looking at how accurate a 2-hour glucose tolerance test (a test to check how your body processes sugar) is when given right after childbirth to women who had gestational diabetes (diabetes that develops during pregnancy). Currently, this test is usually done 6 to 12 weeks after delivery, but many women don't complete it. Researchers want to see if doing the test during your hospital stay after delivery can accurately identify women who still have problems with blood sugar. This could help more women get diagnosed and treated sooner. The study plans to enroll 300 women who are pregnant or recently gave birth, are at least 18 years old, and had gestational diabetes.

Study design
This is an observational study, meaning researchers will observe and collect data without giving specific treatments. It aims to enroll 300 participants.
What's involved
You would receive a 75g glucose tolerance test during your hospital stay after delivery. The accuracy of this test will be compared to a standard test given 6-12 weeks postpartum.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
The primary goal is to check the accuracy of the immediate test compared to results at 6-12 weeks postpartum.
