PET Imaging for Depression (MDD)
This study is looking at whether certain enzymes, cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), can be found in the brains of people with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) who are experiencing a major depressive episode. Researchers will use special scans called PET scans after injecting two different drugs, 11C-MCI and 11CPS13. The goal is to see if COX-1 and COX-2 levels are higher in people with MDD compared to healthy volunteers. You might be able to join if you are 18-70 years old and have MDD, or if you are a healthy volunteer in the same age range.
