This study is looking at how a nutritional drink called Ketone Ester ("(R)-3-hydroxybutyl (R)-3-hydroxybutyrate") might affect the brain and alcohol use in people who regularly drink alcohol. Researchers want to see if this drink can reduce alcohol cravings and how the brain reacts to alcohol cues. You might be able to join if you are 21 to 65 years old, meet the criteria for Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD), and drink at least 15 standard drinks per week. The study will measure if the Ketone Ester reduces alcohol consumption and craving after 4 hours, and brain reactions to alcohol cues after 2 hours. The current status of this study is unclear.

Study design
This is a double-blind, randomized study with 20 participants. This means neither you nor the researchers will know if you're getting the Ketone Ester or a look-alike placebo drink.
