Treadmill Training and Whole-body Vibration for Children with Cerebral Palsy

This study is looking at how treadmill training (TT) and whole-body vibration (WBV) might help children with cerebral palsy (CP). Researchers want to see if adding a single session of WBV to a single session of TT can improve walking and reduce muscle stiffness in the legs. You might be able to join if you are between 6 and 17 years old, have spastic CP, and can walk independently (GMFCS level I, II, or III). The study will measure changes in your walking speed, step length, and knee movement right after the interventions. This study plans to include 20 participants, but its current status is unclear.

Eligibility criteria

Inclusion

a medical diagnosis of spastic CP
a GMFCS level of I, II, or III
age of 6-17 years at the time of data collection

Exclusion

history of musculoskeletal injury within the past 3 months
history of Botox injections to the lower extremities within the past 3 months
history of significant cardiac abnormalities and/or uncontrolled seizures
any cognitive or behavioral issues that prevent the subject from safely following instructions while walking on the treadmill
