Pulmonary Hypertension SOLAR Study

This study is looking for people aged 18 or older who are on the lung transplant waiting list at Duke University Medical Center and have pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs) due to interstitial lung disease (scarring of the lungs) or COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). The goal is to find a unique pattern using hyperpolarized 129Xe (xenon gas) magnetic resonance imaging (129Xe MRI) that shows how blood vessels in the lungs are changing. This pattern could help doctors identify which patients with Group 3 pulmonary hypertension might benefit from specific treatments.
