Observational Study on Childhood Maltreatment, Stress, and Suicidality

This research study is looking at how childhood trauma and stress might be connected to depression and the risk of suicide. Researchers want to see how both short-term and long-term stress affect tiny genetic materials called microRNAs (miRNAs) in your body. miRNAs are very small and respond to your environment, so they might show how stress affects you. You can join if you are 18-60 years old, physically healthy, and have either a diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) or no history of mental illness. The study will measure your microRNA response to stress 24 hours after a stress test. The current recruitment status is unclear.
