[C-11]NPA PET-amphetamine in Cocaine Use Disorders

This study is looking at how the brain's dopamine system works in people with cocaine use disorder. Researchers will use a special imaging scan called a PET scan with a tracer called [C-11]NPA. You would have a baseline PET scan, then take an oral dose of d-amphetamine (a stimulant), and then have a second PET scan. The study aims to see how d-amphetamine affects dopamine release in the brain, specifically in an area called the striatum. This information could help us understand why people relapse and potentially lead to new treatments. The study is currently recruiting 30 participants who are 18 to 55 years old and have cocaine use disorder, but no other major psychiatric or addiction issues.
