Positioning for Hip Arthroscopic Surgery to Reduce Postoperative Numbness
This study is looking at whether using a special pad, called The Pink Pad Hip Kit, during hip arthroscopic surgery can reduce numbness after the operation. Hip arthroscopy is a surgery where doctors use small cuts and a camera to fix problems in your hip joint, like those caused by hip osteoarthritis or injuries. To get enough space to work, doctors often use a traction table with a post that can sometimes cause numbness. Researchers believe that placing The Pink Pad Hip Kit between you and this post will help prevent or shorten how long you feel numb. You might be able to join if you are between 18 and 88 years old, are having hip arthroscopy at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and can read and speak English. The study will measure your numbness before surgery, and then again 72 hours and 1 week after surgery. The current status of this study is unclear.
