UAB Cardiovascular Research Biobank (CARBON)

The UAB Cardiovascular Research Biobank (CARBON) is collecting biological samples, like DNA, and health information from many people over time. This resource will help researchers study heart and metabolic diseases (like diabetes and high blood pressure). They want to understand how genes, especially those related to natriuretic peptides (hormones that help regulate blood pressure and fluid balance), affect these conditions. Researchers hope to find new ways to detect, treat, or prevent diseases and understand why treatments might work differently for various individuals. This study is currently not recruiting, but aims to enroll 500 participants. You may be able to join if you are 18 years or older and not pregnant or an employee/student of the UAB Cardiovascular Disease Division.
