Fruit and Vegetable Prescription Program for Families with Type 2 Diabetes

This study is looking at whether providing families with children who have type 2 diabetes (T2DM) with vouchers for fresh fruits and vegetables can improve their health. You could be eligible if you are under 18, have T2DM with an HbA1c (a measure of blood sugar over time) of 6.5 or higher, and receive care at Rady Children's Hospital Diabetes Clinic. Participants will receive seven $15 vouchers each month for 12 months to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. The study will measure changes in household food security and your HbA1c levels to see if the vouchers are helpful. The current recruitment status is unclear.

Study design
This interventional study plans to enroll 200 participants who will be randomly assigned to receive vouchers immediately or after a 6-month delay.

Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
Participants will be followed for 18 months after starting the study.
