They will also use a laryngeal sensory block with topical bupivacaine (a numbing medicine) to see how blocking sensation in the voice box affects brain activity and voice function. The study is looking for 165 participants, including those with laryngeal dystonia or voice tremor, and healthy volunteers, aged 18 to 80. The main goal is to see how brain signals change in these conditions and how the bupivacaine treatment impacts voice function over five years.
