Better Lifestyle Counseling for African American Women During Pregnancy
This study is looking at two different approaches to help African American pregnant women who are overweight or obese. One approach, called BETTER, focuses on improving sleep habits through sleep hygiene and behavioral techniques. The other, called Birth Prep, provides training on pregnancy-related issues. The goal is to see if these interventions can improve your blood sugar levels (fasting glucose) during pregnancy. You might be able to join if you are an African American woman, 18-40 years old, 16-22 weeks pregnant with one baby, and receive prenatal care at the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System. The study is currently unclear about its recruitment status.
