PRP for ACL Injuries to Prevent Post-traumatic Osteoarthritis
This study is looking at whether platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections can help reduce inflammation and improve knee function after an acute (recent) anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. Researchers will compare PRP injections to a saline (saltwater) placebo injection. They want to see if PRP can help prevent post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA), a type of arthritis that can develop after an injury. The study will measure platelet counts and use a questionnaire called KOOS-JR to assess knee function. You may be able to join if you are 14-50 years old, have had an acute ACL injury within the last 6 weeks, and meet other criteria. The current recruitment status is unclear.
