Understanding Biomarkers for Depression and Suicidality in Adolescents

This study is looking for young people aged 10 to 24 who have Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) or suicidal thoughts. The goal is to find biological markers (biomarkers) in your blood, specifically neural-derived plasma exosomal microRNAs (tiny genetic material), that might help identify the risk for suicidal thoughts and actions. Researchers will use genetic testing to look for these biomarkers. They also want to see how standard depression treatment affects these biomarkers and your depressive and suicidal behaviors. The study aims to improve future medical and psychiatric care. Success will be measured by analyzing your clinical symptoms after 6 weeks. The current recruitment status is unclear.
