PET Imaging for Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH)

This study is looking at a special type of imaging called PET/CT using a substance called 18F-fluoroglutamine (18F-FGln) in people with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). PAH is a serious condition affecting blood vessels in the lungs. The researchers want to see if 18F-FGln can help them understand how PAH affects the body's use of glutamine, a natural substance. This could lead to better ways to diagnose PAH earlier. The study will compare images from people with PAH to images from healthy volunteers. To join, you must be between 18 and 75 years old. The main goal is to measure how much 18F-FGln is taken up in the body after 90 minutes.

Study design
This is an interventional study planning to enroll 71 participants. It compares glutamine uptake in patients with PAH to healthy controls.
What's involved
If you join, you will have a study visit lasting 3-4 hours, including a 90-minute PET scan. An IV will be placed in your arm for the 18F-FGln.
Compensation
Not stated in the trial record.
Follow-up
The primary endpoint is measured at 90 minutes after the imaging, but long-term follow-up is not specified.

Regional \[F-18\] fluoroglutamine (18F-FGN) utilization will be measured as standardized uptake values (SUV) of 18F-FGN in right ventricle wall, left ventricle wall, and perivascular tissue within the lung parenchyma.
