PET Imaging for Tau Accumulation in FTLD and Alzheimer's Disease

This study is looking at how a special imaging agent, [18F]-PI-2620, can help us see tau protein buildup in the brain. Tau buildup is linked to certain brain diseases. Researchers will compare these brain scans in people with frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD), people with atypical Alzheimer's disease, and people who are cognitively normal (meaning their thinking and memory are typical for their age). The goal is to see if [18F]-PI-2620 can accurately measure tau accumulation in different brain regions. You would need to be at least 18 years old and already enrolled in the UNICORN study (IRB #842873) to participate. The study aims to enroll 72 participants.
