ACL Reconstruction with Quadriceps Tendon vs. Patellar Tendon Autograft
This study is comparing two common surgical methods for repairing a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in your knee. Researchers want to see if using a piece of your quadriceps tendon (Quad tendon) works as well as using a piece of your patellar tendon (BTB) for the new ACL. Both procedures use a piece of your own tissue (autograft) to rebuild the ligament. The study will measure knee stability using a special device called a KT-1000 Arthrometer at the time of surgery and 9 months later. You might be able to join if you are between 14 and 65 years old, need ACL reconstruction, and are a good candidate for either type of autograft.
