Robotic Versus Open Ventral Hernia Repair

This study is comparing two ways to fix a ventral hernia (a bulge that happens when organs push through a weak spot in your belly muscles): robotic surgery and open surgery. Researchers want to see if robotic surgery helps you leave the hospital sooner. You might be able to join if you are 18 or older, have a hernia between 7 cm and 15 cm wide, and your doctor thinks you could have either type of surgery. The study is currently unclear about its recruitment status.

This is a randomized study comparing two surgery types, with 200 planned participants. You and the study staff assessing your hospital stay will not know which surgery you received.
