Arginine Metabolism in Youth with Type 2 Diabetes

This study is looking into how arginine (a nutrient) works in young people with Type 2 Diabetes (T2D). Researchers want to understand why T2D is increasing in youth and how arginine might help improve the function of beta-cells (cells in the pancreas that make insulin). You would receive a stable isotope infusion (a safe way to track substances in the body), drink a glucose solution, and get an intravenous (IV) arginine bolus (a quick injection of arginine) on separate study days. The main goal is to see how much arginine is available in your body after one day.
