Muscle Oxygen and Hemoglobin Levels After ACL or Hip Surgery
This study is looking at how muscle oxygen (O2) and hemoglobin levels change in people recovering from ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) or hip surgery. We're using a special wearable device called the Moxy Oxygen Sensor Device to measure these levels during physical therapy and workouts. The goal is to see if these measurements can help doctors better understand when it's safe for athletes to return to sports after surgery. We're comparing people who've had surgery with healthy volunteers. You might be able to join if you are between 14 and 30 years old and are having ACL or arthroscopic hip surgery, or if you are a healthy individual in that age range. The study is trying to enroll 226 participants, but its current status is unclear.
- Study design
- This is an interventional study involving 226 planned participants, including those recovering from ACL or hip surgery and healthy volunteers.
- What's involved
- If you've had surgery, you'll wear the Moxy sensor during physical therapy at specific times (6 weeks, 12 weeks, 6 months, and 9 months). Healthy volunteers will wear the sensor during a single monitored workout.
- Compensation
- Not stated in the trial record.
- Follow-up
- Changes in oxygen saturation and hemoglobin levels will be measured at 6, 9, and 12 months for those who had surgery, and once for healthy individuals.
