Nicotinamide Riboside for Cognition and Sleep
This study is looking at whether a dietary supplement called nicotinamide riboside (NR), a form of vitamin B3, can improve sleep and thinking abilities in older adults. NR helps increase levels of NAD+ in the body, and low NAD+ has been linked to memory problems and sleep issues. You might be able to join if you are between 65 and 85 years old and have a Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) score above 5, indicating poor sleep quality. However, you cannot participate if you have dementia (a VA-SLUMS score below 20). The main goal is to see how NR affects your sleep quality over 12 weeks. The study is currently recruiting 50 participants, but its status is unclear.
